Aromatherapi
berasal dari dua kata, Aroma – artinya bau, dan Therapy –
yang berarti perawatan.
Terapi Aroma adalah suatu praktek dengan
menggunakan minyak nabati yang mudah menguap, termasuk penggunaan minyak
esensial (minyak sari).
Terapi Aroma sudah dipraktekkan sejak peradaban
kuno oleh bangsa Mesir 6000 tahun yang lalu, juga oleh bangsa Romawi dan
Yunani, dengan pijat dibalur dengan wewangian tertentu, juga dengan mandi yang
airnya dicampuri minyak wangi, juga di Timur Tengah mulai dikenal dunia dengan
penyulingan bunga-bungaan. Aromatherapy juga sudah dikenal di China sejak 2700
sebelum masehi, sejak itu juga mulai dikenal pembakaran dupa wangi untuk memuja
para dewa, hal semacam ini juga sudah dikenal di India 3000 tahun yang lalu.
Suku-suku Indian kuno di benua Amerika juga menggunakan wangi-wangian dalam
ritualnya.
Kemudian seorang ahli kimia berkebangsaan
Perancis, Rene Maurice Gattefosse, melakukan penelitian
mengenai daya penyembuhan minyak esensial. Pada tahun 1937 dia mempopulerkan penggunaan
istilah Aromatherapy, dalam buku yang membahas hasil penelitiannya.
Aroma alami yang menyenangkan, akan mempunyai
pengaruh psikologis yang positif terhadap tubuh kita. Minyak esensial memberikan keuntungan secara
psikologis dan fisik, bila digunakan dengan benar dan hati-hati.
Minyak
wangi berbeda dengan minyak esensial, karena di dalamnya terkandung bahan kimia
yang tidak alami dan tidak dapat digunakan untuk penyembuhan.
Apakah Minyak Sari itu?
Minyak
sari adalah cairan hasil penyulingan (biasanya dengan penguapan) dari daun,
tangkai, bunga, kulit kayu, akar atau bagian lain dari tumbuh-tumbuhan. Di sini
penggunaan kata “minyak” tidaklah berarti seperti minyak pada umumnya,
kebanyakan minyak esensial sangat bening, tetapi ada juga yang berwarna sawo
matang atau kuning. Minyak esensial mempunyak khasiat penyembuhan. Biasanya
penyembuhan diperoleh dengan berbagai cara, antara lain dengan menghirupnya,
atau menyerap melalui kulit.
Sering
juga minyak sari digunakan dengan melarutkannya dalam minyak pendukung (minyak
buah badam/almond, minyak aprikot, minyak biji anggur), kemudian dioleskan pada
kulit agar mudah terserap. Dengan menghirup perlahan-lahan juga mempunyai
khasiat penyembuhan, karena ketika molekul-molekul minyak sari ini memasuki
paru-paru kemudian terserap dalam aliran darah.
Minyak
sari biasanya sangat pekat, sehingga sangat tahan lama. Biasanya minyak ini
dijual dalam botol-botol kecil seukuran 75 ml dan 15 ml.
Untuk
mencegah penurunan mutunya, sebaiknya minyak sari disimpan dalam botol berwarna
coklat gelap atau biru gelap, dengan tutup gabus, karena tutup karet akan
bereaksi dengan minyaknya dan merusak isinya, dan sebaiknya disimpan di tempat
yang sejuk dan gelap dan biasanya botol-botol minyak esensial ini disimpan
dalam kotak kayu.
Pengamanan
Kegunaan aromatherapi
- Beberapa jenis minyak sari harus dihindari selama kehamilan atau oleh mereka yang menderita asma, ayan, atau masalah kesehatan lainnya.
- Beberapa jenis minyak dapat mengakibatkan reaksi alergi pada orang-orang tertentu, bila untuk pertama kali menggunakan jenis minyak sari baru, mulailah dengan mengencerkannya terlebih dahulu untuk melihat reaksi tubuh Anda.
- Jangan pernah membiarkan anak-anak menggunakan minyak sari tanpa sepengetahuan orang dewasa. Hampir semua minyak sari sangat harum dan menyenangkan, misalnya minyak sitrun yang baunya mengesankan seolah-olah minyak itu enak diminum. Jauhkan minyak sari Anda dari jangkauan anak kecil. Perlakukan minyak sari Anda seperti obat, yang dapat berakibat seperti racun bila salah menggunakannya.
- Jangan menggunakan minyak sari pada kulit sebelum diencerkan. Memang ada beberaa pengecualian, yang karena keterbatasan ruang, tidak dibahas disini.
- Jangan pernah menelan minyak sari ini, kecuali bila Anda sudah sangat ahli dan menguasai seluk beluk aromatherapy.
- Menghirup – teteskan 3-4 tetes minyak sari ini pada tissue, dekatkan ke hidung Anda dan hiruplah.
- Penguapan – teteskan 3-7 tetes minyak sari dalam satu mangkuk air mendidih, hiruplah dengan jarak 30 cm dari hidung Anda. Dengan cara ini demam dan flu dapat disembuhkan.
- Penyegar ruangan – sama dengan menghirup uap air mendidih yang ditetesi minyak sari, tetapi jangan menghirupnya secara langsung, pergunakan 10 tetes minyak dan biarkan aromanya memenuhi ruangan.
- Penyegar rumah – teteskan beberapa tetes minyak pada tempat sampah, cucian, saluran pembuangan air, atau pada tissue yang ditaruh di lemari.
- Pembasmi serangga – banyak jenis minyak sari, seperti citronella, lavender atau pepermint merupakan pembasmi serangga yang alami. Semprotkan beberapa tetes minyak sari dekat pintu dan jendela untuk mengusir serangga, pastikan terlebih dahulu Anda membaca cara pemakaiannya dengan teliti karena beberapa jenis minyak bisa mengganggu binatang piaraan.
- Urut – teteskan 10-20 tetes minyak sari pada 3cc minyak pelarut, dan gunakan untuk mengurut (mis. minyak almond), jauhkan dari mata dan organ sex. Minyak sari yang belum diencerkan hanya boleh digunakan oleh mereka yang sudah berpengalaman.
- Mandi – tambahkan 5-7 tetes minyak sari pada 3 cc minyak pelarut, campurkan ini pada air untuk berendam.
- Penggunaan lainnya - minyak sari bisa digunakan untuk membuat lotion, facial toner, shampoo, parfum, sabun dan produk-produk alami lainnya.
Tips bagi pemula
- Jangan membeli minyak wangi dan mengira bahwa itu sama dengan minyak sari, karena minyak wangi tidak berkhasiat menyembuhkan.
- Jangan membeli minyak sari dengan tutup dan pipet karet. Minyak sari sangat pekat dan akan menyebabkan karetnya memuai dan ini akan merusak minyak sari di dalamnya.
- Untuk memulai Aromatherapy, bacalah sebanyak-banyaknya artikel mengenai aromatherapy, karena di sana banyak ditemukan cara-cara aman yang perlu kita perhatikan.
- Selektiflah ketika Anda membeli minyak sari. Kwalitas minyak sari sangat beraneka ragam. Sebagai tambahan, banyak penjual minyak sari memalsukan isinya, misalnya mengatakan bahwa minyaknya murni dan belum dicampur walau pada kenyataannya tidak demikian.
- Simpan minyak Anda dalam botol kaca berwarna gelap (coklat tua dan cobalt sangat cocok) dan taruh di tempat yang sejuk dan gelap.
Bagaimana
cara membuatnya?
Banyak artikel mengenai Aromatherapy yang telah dipublikasikan, tetapi
jarang dijumpai yang membahas tentang bagaimana cara membuat sendiri
minyak-minyak sari ini. Berikut ini adalah beberapa cara sederhana membuat
minyak sari kita sendiri. Minyak ini disarikan dari aroma
tumbuh-tumbuhan.
- Pelayuan – ambil sebuah jambangan besar, isi sepertiganya dengan kelopak bunga atau daun pilihan Kemudian tuangkan minyak nabati bermutu tinggi (minyak biji anggur, minyak bunga matahari dan lain-lain) sampai penuh, tutup rapat-rapat, keluarkan sebanyak-banyaknya udara yang ada di dalamnya, simpan di tempat panas kering, bila kelopak bunganya sudah menjadi coklat, angkat dan gantilah dengan kelopak bunga baru yang sejenis. Lakukan ini tiga atau empat kali sampai Anda memperoleh keharuman yang anda kehendaki. Kemudian saringlah dengan saringan yang halus untuk membuang semua kotoran yang tersisa.
- Penyulingan – ini adalah cara yang paling sering digunakan untuk mengambil minyak sari tanaman. Prosesnya diawali dengan memasukkan bahan tanaman kedalam tabung alat penyuling kemudian diuapi pada tekanan tinggi. Uap air dan wangi minyak sari kemudian didinginkan, mencair dan ditampung dalam botol penyimpanan.
- Memeras – minyak citrus diperoleh dengan cara memeras kulit buah-buahan yang mengandung tetesan minyak sari.
Adas – obat
sakit pencernaan, batu ginjal, kegemukan, cegukan, meningkatkan nafsu makan,
mengurangi problim menopause, meningkatkan air susu ibu.
Cemara – infeksi
dada, demam, bronchitis, katarak, sinusitis, memperlancar sirkulasi,
menyembuhkan rematik, artritis dan nyeri otot.
Cendana – untuk
mengobati batuk kering, bronkitis kronis, sakit tenggorokan, kulit kering,
kulit berminyak, jerawat, gelisah, syaraf tertekan dan depresi.
Daun Salam –
menyembuhkan bronchitis, demam, flu, sinusitis, menguatkan pencernaan dan
menyembuhkan insomnia.
Ekaliptus –
meredakan peradangan, demam, batuk, TBC, bronchitis, sinusitis, katarak, asma,
sakit otot, migren.
Jeruk lemon –
perawatan penyakit kulit, kulit kering ataupun berminyak, tekanan darah rendah,
demam, sakit tenggorokan, penyakit saluran cerna, batu empedu, penyembuhan
luka, sengatan serangga, asam urat, rematik, gout, bronchitis.
Jeruk orange –
memperlancar sistem pencernaan, menghilangkan sembelit, diare, sariawan,
menghilangkan kelelahan dan depresi.
Jintan – baik untuk
infeksi saluran kencing, batuk, rematik, gout, melancarkan peredaran darah dan
meningkatkan nafsu makan.
Kayu Cedar –
melonggarkan pernafasan, melancarkan kencing, menyembuhkan artritis dan
rematik, jerawat, ketombe, eksim.
Kayu Manis –
menghangatkan, baik untuk kelelahan yang disebabkan oleh demam dan flu, juga
sebagai penguat otot-otot jantung dan memperlancar sirkulasi darah, meringankan
sakit perut, diare, sakit otot dan depresi.
Kenanga
(Ylang-ylang) – menenangkan gangguan syaraf, shock, ketakutan, stress, gelisah,
depresi, insomnia, meredakan tekanan darah tinggi, untuk perawatan wajah dan
kulit.
Lada Hitam –
menyembuhkan demam, melancarkan sirkulasi, menghilangkan keracunan, menguatkan
otot, menghilangkan rasa sakit.
Lavender –
menyeimbangkan dan menenangkan syaraf, kelelahan emosional, sakit kepala,
migren, sakit kulit, jerawat, eksim, saluran kencing, luka bakar, membantu
mempercepat kesembuhan, menghilangkan rasa sakit, artritis, sakit saat
menstruasi, tekanan darah tinggi, cacingan.
Mawar – menghilangkan
ketegangan, depresi, kesedihan, sangat cocok untuk merawat gangguan sistem
reproduksi, membuat menstruasi teratur, menghilangkan depresi setelah
melahirkan, kesedihan, frigiditas, impoten, perawatan kulit, membantu
sirkulasi, menyembuhkan sembelit, sakit kepala, kelelahan mental.
Melati –
meningkatkan semangat, meredakan ketegangan, kelelahan, depresi, kekhawatiran,
menyembuhkan impotensi, frigiditas, sakit waktu haid, kram dan peradangan
kulit.
Pepermint –
menghilangkan gangguan pencernaan, diare, kembung, mabuk laut, mual,
muntah-muntah, demam, dapat digunakan untuk tonikum kulit, menghilangkan
jerawat, katarak, menghilangkan kelelahan mental.
Selasih – penguat syaraf,
melancarkan pencernaan, menghilangkan kelelahan fisik, infeksi pernafasan, penghalus
kulit, membuat teratur siklus menstruasi, meningkatkan konsentrasi.
Tea Tree – Bukan pohon teh, di
Australia dan Selandia Baru disebut manuka (leptospermum scoparium). Antiseptik
dan anti jamur. Menyembuhkan demam, flu, infeksi pada anak-anak, cacar air,
kutil, penyakit kulit, jerawat, cacing gelang, kutu air, sariawan, AIDS,
keluhan pencernaan, katarak, sinusitis dan luka.

What is Aura
Everything in the Universe seems to be just a vibration. Every atom, every part of an atom, every electron, every elementary “particle”, even our thoughts and consciousness are just vibrations. Hence, we may define the Aura as a electro-photonic vibration response of an object to some external excitation (such as an ambient light for example). This definition is sufficient for the purpose of reading Auras, providing that we can train ourselves to see the Aura vibration.
The most important property of the Aura seems to be the fact that it contains INFORMATION about the object.
Aura around living (conscious) objects (people, plants ...) changes with time, sometimes very quickly. Aura around non-living object (stones, crystals, water...) is essentially fixed, but can be changed by our conscious intent. Above facts have been observed by scientists in Russia, who have been using Kirlian effect to study Auras for the last 50 years.
The Aura around humans is partly composed from EM (electromagnetic) radiation, spanning from microwave, infrared (IR) to UV light. The low frequency microwave and infrared part of the spectrum (body heat) seems to be related to the low levels of the functioning of our body (DNA structure, metabolism, circulation etc.) whereas high frequency (UV part) is more related to our conscious activity such as thinking, creativity, intentions, sense of humor and emotions. Russian scientists, who seem to be about 3 decades ahead of everyone else in Aura research, make experiments suggesting that our DNA can be altered, by influencing its microwave Aura. The high frequency UV part is very important and most interesting but largely unexplored. And this part can be seen with naked eyes.
Why do we need to see auras ?
Colors and intensity of the aura, especially around and above the head have VERY special meanings. Watching someone's aura you can actually see the other person's thoughts before you hear them expressed verbally. If they do not agree with what this person is saying, you effectively see a lie every time. No one can lie in front of you undetected. We cannot fake the Aura. It shows our True Nature and intentions for everyone to see.
Also, aura is our spiritual signature. When you see a person with a bright, clean aura, you can be SURE that such person is good and spiritually advanced, even if he/she is modest and not aware of it. When you see a person with a gray or dark aura, you may be almost SURE, that such person has unclear intentions, regardless how impressive, eloquent, educated, "good looking" or "well dressed" he/she seems to appear.
It is ESPECIALLY important to check the aura of any religious leader, "spiritual teacher", "master" or a "guru". Such a person should have a clearly defined yellow-golden halo around the head. If he/she does not have it, you are MUCH better on your own.
Joining a sect or a religion that is led by incompetent people without good Auras is very dangerous for your consciousness. Where is the danger ? When the time comes to really use the information stored in your consciousness from this lifetime, there may be almost nothing useful there, if you focus your life on following rituals and the flock of other people. In such case it is necessary to re-learn everything from the beginning. Most sect, religion and political leaders have only two things in mind: money and power to control people. And you can SEE it in their Aura for yourself. Imagine changes on Earth if many people can see Auras of their leaders and start choosing them on the basis of their Auras.
By reading Aura it seems possible to diagnose malfunctions in the body (diseases) long before physical symptoms become evident. By consciously controlling your Aura you can actually heal yourself.
However, healing of the physical body is nothing in comparison to what seeing and reading auras can do for our consciousness, spiritual development and our awareness of Nature.
Everyone has an Aura. But most people on Earth have VERY WEAK and dull Auras. This seems to be a direct consequence of their life long materialistic attitude negating and suppressing the development of consciousness, cultivating fear, envy, jealousy and other similar emotions. Such attitude suppresses their True Nature, and their Auras seem to become suppressed too.
When you learn to see Auras, be prepared for a REALLY HARD question: “Can you tell me what my Aura is ?” and the situation when you don't see any Aura or you see something you don't want to talk about. One of the best answers I found is “why don't you learn to see it for yourself ? “. And this is one of the main reasons why I teach people to see auras.
When people realize that their Aura is on display and many people are able to see it, they will watch what they think. And they will try to see and improve their own Aura. In the process they will become better and wiser, being able to recognize intentions of other people. Surely, the entire world will become much better if all people can see and read Auras.
Children and the Aura:
Very young children (up to 5 years of age) see auras naturally. Infants frequently look ABOVE a person in front of them. When they don't like the color of the aura above the head, or if this color is much different from their parent's aura, they cry, no matter how much smiling the person does.
Children have much cleaner and stronger auras than most of adults, who are usually completely enslaved by the materialistic world and suppress their Nature by following superficial examples. When I taught my 12 year old son to see his own Aura, he told me that when he was little he was able to see Auras most of the time. But no one paid any attention, so he thought that it was not important and maybe there was something wrong with his eyesight. This is a typical scenario. In my opinion children should learn to see and read Auras in a primary school, so they never lose this natural ability.
Greenrose/Rosaveridflora/Rosa Chinensis
The different parts of rosa chinensis, commonly known as the China rose, are used in a variety of herbal treatments, many of them designed to help ease women’s menstrual problems and to improve blood circulation. These treatments make use of mostly the flowers and buds, but can also use the leaves and roots. Rosa chinensis is also used in herbal concoctions to treat arthritis, coughs and boils. Rose hips, the fruit of the rose, have been used to treat wounds and sprains. The hips also are an excellent source of vitamin C and are frequently made into a tea.

Rosa chinensis also is a good source of vitamins E and B, antioxidants and the minerals zinc, iron and phosphorous.

People, too, enjoy the benefits of an oil made from the hips, which is used in some beauty products. Rose petals have been used for centuries to make perfumes, and they also can be sautéed and eaten, or made into a wine.
